About Our Family Farm
Welcome to our website!
We are a certified organic farm located in south-central Pennsylvania close to Gettysburg. You may have heard of us before, we changed our name from Oyler's Eden Valley Farms to Oyler's Organic Farms. We feel that our new name more accurately reflects our way of thinking and farming.
We have 360 acres of land which are certified organic. Our products meet the USDA seal of approval. We are certified by Pennsylvania Certified Organic, which is an approved certifier of the USDA. Our 2012 harvest will be our fifth crop to be certified organic.
Currently we grow organic apples, organic hay, and organic baleage. The newest addition to our farm is beef cattle which arrived in May 2010. Our farm is a family farm and we own and operate it. Bill is the fifth generation to farm the same land! As stewards of the land we strive for healthy soil and subsequently healthy plants. We planted baby trees in the spring of 2008, 2009, and 2010 which are not yet bearing fruit. Look for organic peaches and more apple varieties in the future!
We are proud to be members of various organizations which includes PASA (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture) as well as PCO (Pennsylvania Certified Organic). We are also members of the South Central Buy Fresh Buy Local Chapter. In February 2010 we were excited to be a recipient of a Sustainability Award given by Pennsylvania Certified Organic!
